The Game Homework (Conevention of a thriller)




Before I started this piece of homework I had to focus on some of the key aspects that a thriller film a thriller. There are 11 points I must use to help describe The Game.

  • The aim of the thriller is to create suspense and excitement for the audience.

  • The setting is usually uban or suburban.

  • The narrative revolves around the investigation of an enigma or puzzle.

  • The hero is the only person able to solvethe enigma and reveal the truth.

  • The enigma of the narrative will be solved by the end of the film.

  • There will be a rational rather than supernatural explanation of the puzzle.

  • the thriller centres on injustices in society but solves these wrongs.

  • It often reveals the workings of particular institutions such as the police, the army of the government.

  • Violent crime is central.

  • The hero is often an outsider, isolated, secretive but moral.

  • The hero and villain, although on opposing sides, share some characteristics
